Specialist Access

Schemes & Facilities

Pre-negotiated insurance programs offering enhanced terms, competitive pricing, and access to markets not available through standard channels available to eligible clients through our direct insurer and underwriting agency relationships.

What you need to know

A scheme or facility is an insurance program negotiated directly with an insurer or underwriting agency for a specific industry, occupation, or risk type. Rather than placing each risk individually in the open market, a scheme provides pre-agreed terms, conditions, and pricing for eligible clients often with broader coverage than a standard market placement.

Stainton & Co. has access to a broad range of schemes and facilities, alongside direct relationships with specialist underwriting agencies operating in New Zealand. This means eligible clients benefit from pre-negotiated terms, specialist policy wordings, and faster placement without sacrificing the independent advice that drives the right outcome.

What we help with

Specialist scheme and facility placements, delivering pre-negotiated policy terms, broader coverage conditions, and faster market access for eligible businesses — ensuring that clients operating in defined industries benefit from purpose-built cover that reflects the real risks of their occupation, not a generic market alternative.

What's generally covered

Industry Schemes

Purpose-built insurance programs for specific industries and occupations. An industry scheme provides coverage tailored to the common risks, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations that businesses in a given sector face. Rather than fitting a standard commercial policy to an industry it wasn't designed for, a scheme starts with the right foundation. We have scheme access across hospitality, trades, retail, professional services, and more.

Professional Indemnity Facilities

Pre-arranged PI facilities for specific professions including design and construction professionals, IT consultants, financial advisers, real estate agents, engineers, and other licensed practitioners. Facility-based PI provides consistent coverage terms and competitive pricing for clients in regulated professions, and can often be placed faster than an open-market submission.

Specialty Underwriter Facilities

Stainton & Co. has direct access to a range of specialty underwriting agencies operating in New Zealand, providing facility-based pricing for commercial lines, financial lines, and specialty risks. These facilities are particularly valuable for risks that don't fit standard insurer appetites, or where a specialist underwriter has a deeper understanding of the risk class than a general insurer.

Lloyd's of London

We have access to Lloyd's of London for complex, high-value, or hard-to-place risks where New Zealand market capacity is limited or the risk requires the breadth and financial strength that only Lloyd's can provide.

Association & Group Schemes

If you belong to an industry association, professional body, or business group, there may be a scheme already available to members. We can assess whether an existing association scheme represents genuine value against open market alternatives, and where appropriate, work with associations to explore establishing a tailored group program for their membership base.

How It Works

From enquiry to placement

1

Risk Assessment

We review your business, industry, and existing cover to understand what schemes or facilities may be applicable.

2

Tailored Solution

We work with you to understand your specific needs and build a programme that fits not an off-the-shelf product applied without thought.

3

Market Comparison

Scheme options are presented alongside open market alternatives we recommend the best fit, not the easiest placement.

4

Placement & Ongoing Support

Cover is placed with full documentation. We review your programme at renewal and remain available whenever your circumstances change.
